After Aishwarya Rai Bachachn and Parveen Babi, Aamir Khan is the third Bollywood star to grace the cover page of Time magazine. Aamir Khan's show 'Satyamev Jayate' has made the actor a true star. His show is said to have brought revolutionary in the society. Aamir's show has explored social issues that are relevant in the society like female foeticide, dowry, medial malpractices etc.
After his show, government of Rajasthan ordered fast track courts to resolve pending female foeticide cases in the state. Aamir was also invited to the parliament to discuss issue of FDI in pharmaceuticals. He also met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to emphasize the plight of manual scavengers.
Parveen Babi featured on Time cover in July 1976 and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was featured in 2003.
Sachin Tendulkar was the last Indian celebrity to make on the cover. Other Indians who featured are Sania Mirza, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Narendra Modi. Mahatma Gandhi made to the cover of Time Magazine three times and he was declared Man Of The Year in 1930.
